The iRig Pads is a versatile and ultra-portable MIDI groove controller designed for use with iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, and PC. The iRig Pads is designed with portability in mind. It is smaller than an iPad and less than 1" thick, making it easy to slip into any backpack or laptop bag. It features ultra-low power consumption, so it can be fully functional as soon as you connect it to your device. No power adaptor is required. Simply plug it into your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch via the included Lightning cable (30-pin connector sold separately), or your Mac or PC via the included USB cable, and start grooving.

The controller features a 4x4 grid of 16 velocity-sensitive, backlit multicolor rubber pads. Each pad lights up in multiple colors, indicating the velocity of your playing and the MIDI information sent by your chosen music app or software.

In addition to the pads, the iRig Pads offers a full set of controls, including two knobs, two pushbuttons, one slider, and one pushbutton rotary encoder. These controls are MIDI assignable and customizable, allowing you to create up to 16 distinct MIDI maps or "scenes" that can be saved and recalled instantly. The controller comes with 6 pre-programmed default scenes that work with popular apps and software right out of the box.

To further customize the iRig Pads, it includes the iRig Pads Editor, a free editing program available for Mac and PC. This intuitive software allows you to create, edit, and transfer scenes to the iRig Pads, giving you full control over MIDI messages and assignments from your computer. This customization ensures that the controller fits seamlessly into your creative process and unique production and performance workflows.

The familiar 16-pad layout of the iRig Pads makes it an ideal platform for creating beats on the go. It comes with a free copy of SampleTank 4 SE for Mac/PC, providing a full-featured sound and groove workstation with a 30GB library of 2000 instruments. Additionally, it includes SampleTank free for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad, offering a portable version of IK's powerful sound workstation. With the iRig Pads, you can effortlessly control SampleTank and create beats and grooves using its drum machine-style "pads" interface.

Moreover, the iRig Pads is fully MIDI class-compliant, allowing you to use and customize its controls with virtually any MIDI-compatible app or computer software, such as FL Studio Mobile, iMPC Pro, GarageBand, MPC Software, Ableton Live, Maschine, and more.
