Indo Caribbean Samples
Derived from the influence of East Indian indentured laborers mainly from the Hindi belt to cultivate the sugar plantations after the emancipation of African slaves predominantly in Trinidad and Tobago, Suriname, and Guyana. This sample library offered comprises of the two main East Indian/English creole–influenced music subgenres.
Chutney – evolved the Bhojpuri folk music. The primary instruments used are the harmonium, dhantal, and dholak.
Tassa – evolved from the Tamil influenced Tasha drumming. The main instruments used are the Dhol or bass drum, the Caribbean version of nagara (known as the kutter) drum, and the Jhanj cymbal.
